This is an Athens county  deed record that was listed on the Ohio University Archives website by George Bain.  It shows W. W. Poston selling his land to the  Columbus and Hocking Coal and Iron Company for $25,000.00 in 1883.  

The Poston family was one of the early coal mine operators of Athens county.  Many area people worked in Poston at the Poston Power Plant and in the Poston Coal Mines.
