Elizabeth CALVERT born March 1793 (?) Pennsylvania. She married about May 1812 (?), in Pennsylvania, Jacob JONES b. 1794 in Green co, PA. By 1813 it is believed Elizabeth and Jacob are in Morgan county, Ohio, because their children John, Jacob, Isaac, Abraham, James, Lewis and Sam were born in Morgan county, Ohio. By Dec 1835 Jacob JONES has remarried and has migrated to Boone county, Indiana. A Boone county Indiana history book reports his earlier wife "Elizabeth Calvert, a descendant of an old German family of the Keystone state." What Pennsylvania county was Elizabeth from? In 1852 Jacob JONES migrates to Oregon. Who are Elizabeths parents and siblings?

Searching for Harrison O'Hara (O'Harra). Civil War records say he was born in Morgan County, Ohio but another record says Wayne County, Ohio. He was born in 1827. He shows up in Van Buren County, Iowa in 1856 and died in Fayettevill Arkansas in 1863. His parents may have been George and Susannah (HAWKS)O'HARA but I have no proof. Any help greatly appreciated.

Greetings: I've just come to this site to check whether my ancestors in Seneca County are listed. Jonas Hampsire was a early pioneer there, he was part of the group that established Jackson Township in the early 1830s. His third son, Emanuel, married Sarah Stahl, and among their children was my grandfather, Levi. Emanuel and family moved to Kansas in 1872, but Jonas had moved to Wood County, Ohio where he died in 1895. I have written a ten-generation genealogy (not yet published) tracing my line from John Hamsher in PA in the 1750s to my grandson Gifford Vaughan Hampshire here in Fairfax, Virginia.

Stephen Miller Fri Dec 06, 1996
My name is Stephen J. Miller.I was born and reaised near Waterford, Ohio and still have relatives living in the area. I have begun work on the family tree. I found this web site today. Although I no longer reside in Ohio, I am continuing the family research. To date, I have traced part of the Miller family to Morgan County, Ohio. We located the following at a cemetary in Morgan County with the following information: John Miller (born 1799 and died June 3, 1861). He was born in Virginia. The marker for his wife was next to his grave. She was Catherine Calendine (birth unknown and died September 8, 1860). She was born in Virginia. Several of their children are also buried next to them. They are listed as: Mary J. Miller (born December 28, 1833 and died December 9, 1858); Charles E. Miller (born June 3, 1857 and died April 28, 1863); James B. Miller (born April 28, 1847 and died March 30, 1863); Catherine A. Miller (born April 16, 1845 and died March 25, 1863). It appears that a terrible diease or other incident occurred in 1863 that resulted in the deaths of three of the children in a short period of time. I am interested in locating any birth or death records that can help me trace both John Miller and Catherine Calendine to Virginia. If you have any suggestions or thoughts regarding records in Morgan County in this regard, I would appreciate it a great deal.
Thank you,
Stephen J. Miller
