BUTLER, LEGGIT, YOUNG

Mason YOUNG and Luticie (LEGGIT) YOUNG, born in PA, moved to Muskingum Co. OH in about 1838. One of their sons, Mason Alexander (Alex) YOUNG (b. 1843/4) enlisted in the 122nd Ohio VI in McConnelsville, Morgan Co, and used that city and county as his residence on the enlistment & other military papers. After the war Alex married Sarah Jane (Jennie) BUTLER in Young Hickory, Muskingum Co, OH. and moved to IA and NE. A family Bible references (illegible) Meigs... which could be an event in Morgan Co, in a township in Muskingum Co, or in Meigs County. Since these YOUNGs apparently do not appear in the 1840 Muskingum census we assume they moved to Morgan Co., but have no proof other than the military papers. We would be looking for census, birth, death, burial, taxes... any indication that they were in Morgan County.

HENDERSON

(My 5G Grandfather): GEORGE HENDERSON b: Scotland ca 1750. Will was filed in Washington Co, PA, Dec. 1814. (My 4G Grandfather): ROBERT HENDERSON b: Ireland 1771. Will filed Muskingum Co, OH 1852. Also, have a copy of his Deed in Muskingum Co. Will mentions ROBERT ROLIN HENDERSON as his grandson. 1850 Muskingum Co, OH Census lists Robert Rolin, grandson, living with Grandpa. (3G Grandfather:) is a bit of a mystery. 4G Grandpa Henderson had 5 sons: GEORGE B, FREDERICK, WALTER G, ALEXANDER G, & ROBERT. And as I said lists grandson: Robert Rolin Henderson in his will. Father is probably FREDERICK HENDERSON, but that is deduction, not documented fact. (2G Grandfather:) ROBERT ROLIN HENDERSON, b: 1833, Morgan Co, OH (family tradition). m: ELIZABETH CAROL PURCELL, 6 March 1856, Morgan Co, OH. Children: ELLIS HENDERSON, OH. JOHN SINCLAIR HENDERSON, 1861, Ross Co, OH. ODESSA HENDERSON, 1863, OH. GEORGE HENDERSON, 1865, OH. ESTELLA HENDERSON, 1867, IA. EDWARD HENDERSON, 1872, MO. (1G Grandfather): JOHN SINCLAIR HENDERSON, 1861, b: 1861, Ross Co, OH. d: 1942, Colton, CA. Peace Officer. Grandfather: ROBERT ROLAND HENDERSON, 1892, MO. Hope this will catch someone's eye.
