Additional Information on Elsie and Alice Phillis
Elsie Alice (Stevens/Stephens) was born in what is now Jackson Twp, Noble County and is the sister of William, Joseph and Nathan Stevens/Stephens
(Gr. Gr. Grandfather of David A. Stephens). Many Stevens/Stephens and Phillis families lived in Center Twp. Morgan County.
Elsies's husband Jacob (whose name is across the top of the tombstone) was killed in the Civil War in 1865 and is buried in Tennessee. After his death Elsie and her 7-8 children lived in Jackson Twp. Noble County OH. In 1880 she is listed as a servant for Dr. W.D. Putnam in Washington County OH and died there in 1905
