Their children: Martha Jane VICKROY, born 1863, possibly April 1863, married William Franklin DORRIS in Feb. 1886; John E. VICKROY, born 1869 in OH., married William PRICE; Thomas H. VICKROY, born 1871, possibly July 1871, in Ringold, Union Township., Morgan Co., OH., married Nancy Agnes CHAPPELEAR in Jan.1897 in Morgan Co., OH. Nancy was born in 1875, possibly Feb. 1875,
in Morgan Co., OH. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated by myself and a number of other VICKROY family members (distant cousins of mine/ours) and VICKROY researchers, as this is apparently a common 'roadblock'. (I've searched through hundreds of pages myself.) Please contact me at my e-mail address. I have other names of Samuel's and Margaret's descendents that have come from 'internet' sources, and if you would like them, I will gladly forward them to you. (I am not married to, have never been, nor have ever heard of a 'Katherine Spies', as shown on, - my wife would surely like to know, though!!) Thanks to any and all of you in advance.

I am looking for information on a Mary Dugan Harkins, who moved to Morgan county sometime after 1817, after the death of her husband, Unknown Harkins. I believe I read somewhere in some Statewide Ohio information, that she moved to Morgan county, with her nine children, possibly moving with other family members. Unknown Harkins is shown to have died abt. 1817, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. I am researching Harkins from Morgan county, my GGGGrandfather, William Harkins, married Elizabeth Thompson, in Athens county, Ohio, 25 June 1832, but resided in Morgan county, where they had their 12 children. William Harkins born abt. 1810, in/of Chester county, Pa., Elizabeth Thompson born about 1816/1817, Chester county, Pa. I am specifically looking for William's family, father, mother and siblings. I am suspecting that Mary Dugan may be the missing link I have been looking for to connect to William. This is the only information I have on him. I do have family information on Elizabeth Thompson. Levi, their one son, is my direct line, who married Asenath Michener, and resided in Morgan county.

Looking for information on either of the parents of my g-g-g grandparents David MONTGOMERY (b 1799 PA or OH) and Hannah THISTLE (or THISSEL, THISSELL; b BF 1816 ME). David and Hannah were married 11 Dec 1830 in Morgan County, OH and had one son Edwin MONTGOMERY (b 5 Nov 1831 Morgan County, OH) before moving to Illinois (they later had two more children in Illinois). David MONTGOMERY may have also had at least two brothers, William and John MONTGOMERY (both probably born in OH). David MONTGOMERY and Hannah THISTLE's parents are very likely buried in Morgan County. In the Morgan Co. 1850 census it lists 2 separate families within close proximity of each other in Bristol Twp. Ann YOUNG age 71 PA, Ann YOUNG 40 PA, and Betsy YOUNG 36 PA. Mary YOUNG age 72 PA, Ann YOUNG 39 PA and Elizabeth YOUNG 32 PA. In 1860 one group is gone and the other is Ann YOUNG 45 OH, Elizabeth YOUNG 40 Oh, Letetia YOUNG 38 OH, Washington YOUNG 20 OH and Alexander 17 OH. I think this Ann and Elizabeth are the ones with Mary in 1850, but I can't find the elder Mary or Ann in the cemetery books. Does anyone know who they were married to and where they were buried and also what happened to Letitia, Ann, Elizabeth and Alexander?
